Interesting Questions and Answers
- What’s a typical day like for you? – My typical day starts at 5 to head to the gym. About 7, I’m at BART headquarters working with our blended team to help deliver the largest brownfield CBTC project in the US. Then I head home in the evening to spend time with my wife, son, and daughter. Hopefully I will get in a walk to the beach.
- What do you think are the best skills that you bring to your job? – I love the types of problem solving that engineers do. Naturally, there are technical problems. I really enjoy listening to the needs and wants of stakeholders, the possibilities and constraints presented by contractors, and then synthesizing the ideas to facilitate an agreeable solution. That is really fundamental to the role of an Owner’s Engineer.
- What are you happiest doing, when you’re not working? – I like to stay busy. So when I’m not working for a client, I’m at the gym, out for a hike or exploring, or lately, building/remodeling housing.
